Reitz is the only EVSC school to include Latin in its "World
Language" department. We believe the study of Latin will support
students with an interest in medicine, law, and horticulture.
Reitz also offers a one-of-a-kind course called "Feel the History"
which allows students to choose an historical person, place, or event
from the Evansville area and complete all the steps necessary to create a
5-15 minute documentary over it. The finished product will be shown on
our local PBS station and placed on our "Feel the History" website.
Reitz offers the first (2) years of the PLTW Engineering program.
Again, the is a national program where teachers must be trained and
certified to teach the courses which follow a national curriculum.
Students have the opportunity to earn college credit and network with
industry members who visit and communicate with the students.
Reitz has a credentialed teacher with both Ivy Tech and USI who is
able to offer "Public Speaking" as a dual credit course. We have (33)
college-connected courses to colleges and universities. This means your
student can earn many college credits at a much-reduced cost while
completing the requirements for high school.
