The Indiana Academic Standards for Mathematics demonstrate what students shouldIDOE_Math know and be able to do in the areas of K-8 Mathematics; Algebra I, II, and Geometry; and higher-level high school Mathematics courses. Instruction in Mathematics provides vital content and skills for lifelong learning and problem-solving in our increasingly complex technological world and engages students in the essential thinking skills and processes used across subject areas.

This means that students who successfully master these objectives for what they should know and be able to do in Mathematics disciplines by the time they graduate from high school will be ready to go directly into the workplace or a postsecondary educational opportunity without the need for remediation.
