F.J. Reitz High School will celebrate its 100th birthday in 2018. For almost 100 years, Reitz has been building well-rounded students through academics, the arts, and athletics. We offer more than 30 dual credit courses (courses that count for high school credit and college credit at the same time).
This year, we are offering a new dual credit course entitled “Public Speaking” where a college instructor comes to Reitz and teaches. We are the only high school to offer Latin which is a great world language to take in conjunction with our 4-year Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses in bio-med. We also continue to offer the first two years of the national PLTW Engineering program.
Our average graduating rate for the past five years is 95%, and 90% of our grads have passed the end-of-course assessments in Algebra and English 10 for the past two years. We believe in students developing their skills and talents through participation in our 60+ fine arts or athletic organizations.
The administration, faculty, students, and families of Reitz practice something we call our AWE initiative which stands for “fostering a positive Attitude, building a strong Work ethic, and offering genuine Encouragement to others.” When you visit Reitz, prepare to be AWEsome!
